My Soo's birthday!

Well, i made it out to Sunny California, and yes it is sunny!

My flight left O'Hare at 7 in the morning, which meant i woke up at 3 am. The forecast had been calling for 8-12 inches of snow... and it was snowing. The radio announced United had already canceled 130 flights. We were flying United... but fortunately we did book that earlier flight, and we made it out to LA.

Good thing too, because i did not want to miss Soo's birthday (ok it wouldn't have mattered, i wanted to be out here to see Soo)!

She turned 29 today. We didn't quite get to everything we wanted to do, and the day went by SOOO quickly! i really wish we could have spent some more time with the Lord, and that we could have had more time to talk, and i could have held her some more. Next year i suppose.

Some of my plans went awry when we went to the restaurant i had planned on taking her to yesterday... still, we went to this greek place, and it was wonderful!

Actually the party started in the morning, as i made her a mix cd to listen to on the way out here (yeah, she has to come pick me up- but i relized this, so made her a cd!).

i wanted it to bring her to reflection on life, what to live for, how God has been leading her and working in her, and still has good plans for her. And that she is loved by God and by me! Plus a few fun, cheerful songs for her day.

After lunch we went to a coffee shop and spent some time with the Lord (originally this was supposed to be breakfast, but the food wasn't the important part- the important part was connecting with God. i told her to reflect on life, how God has led her and taken care of her and blessed her.

And said no wedding planning... and no phone calls.

i also gave her a gift: a coloring book!

But not just any coloring book, but a Bible story coloring book.
The purpose to relax and relieve some stress. And also to think about God.

After that we watched Avatar in 3D IMAX, and then got dinner with her family, and my mom.

All in all a pretty good day.
Unfortunately it went by too quickly! i wish i had like 8 more hours with her.

Soo is such a blessing and encouragement to me. And i am so glad to be with her. She adores me and loves me so much, i feel treasured. i love taking care of her, encouraging her, supporting her, serving her, being with her. i am so thankful for her. She is a huge blessing from God to me. Thank YOU Lord for Soo!
And if she's reading happy birthday!
